KPV
A three amino acid fragment of alpha-MSH studied for gut and skin inflammation, mostly in animals.
Full analysis available. KPV is under FDA compounding review, and we cover it in depth with the committee vote and our Peptide Evidence Index. Read the full KPV analysis →
Effects studied or claimed
What it is used or promoted for, and where each effect has actually been seen

How it is thought to work
KPV is the C-terminal end of alpha-MSH, and in cell and animal models appears to dampen inflammatory signaling, including in the intestine.
What the evidence shows
Mouse models of colitis showed reduced inflammation when KPV was delivered to the gut. There are no meaningful human trials.
Safety and unknowns
Human safety has not been tested in trials. Unregulated products vary in purity.
Regulatory status
Not FDA-approved. See our full KPV profile for the 2026 advisory committee review.
