How it is thought to work
Cenderitide fuses parts of two natriuretic peptides to promote salt excretion and relax vessels without as much drop in blood pressure.
What the evidence shows
Early studies reported effects on urine output and kidney function. Larger trials were not completed.
Safety and unknowns
Low blood pressure was less common than with nesiritide in early studies.
Regulatory status
Not approved. Development stalled after early trials.
Regulatory status changes quickly. This entry was last reviewed on 27 October 2026. Confirm current status with the FDA before relying on it.
